About
A seamless K–12 pathway empowering students to think, create, and lead like entrepreneurs
The Fields of Ideas Entrepreneur Pathway is a vertically integrated learning continuum that introduces entrepreneurial thinking at the earliest years of schooling and scaffolds these experiences through high school and into postsecondary opportunities. The program fuses founder journey (Awareness → Immersion → Discovery) with enterprise education framework. Students engage in hands-on enterprise projects, pitching experiences, and career modules that build the future-ready capabilities demanded in a disrupted labor market.
This program is not traditional business studies; entrepreneurship is one possible outcome. More importantly, it develops an enterprising mindset—creativity, collaboration, adaptability, and lifelong learning—that empowers students to succeed in any career pathway.
Why It Matters
Equipping the next generation to thrive in a rapidly changing, technology-driven workforce
- Future of Work Reality: Young people will likely hold 17 jobs across 5 industries in their lifetimes, and it now takes an average of 4.7 years for those aged 15–24 to secure full-time work. Automation will disrupt up to 70% of entry-level jobs within the next 10–15 years.
- Enterprise Skills Demand: Creativity (+260%), presentation (+110%), and digital literacy (+680%) are among the most in-demand skills. Jobs requiring enterprise skills pay up to $8,853 more annually for young job seekers.
- Equity: Enterprise education is a levelling mechanism, particularly for disadvantaged and rural youth. By framing learning through real-world problems and career skills, students are equipped to be job creators as well as job seekers.
Strategic Importance for Regional & Rural Communities
“Entrepreneurial education has the potential to improve opportunities for students and youth in regional, rural and remote communities by shifting the focus of education from primarily preparation for employment to creation of employment.”
– Independent Review into Regional and Remote Education, 2018

An essential component of the model is professional development for teachers and school staff.
Teacher professional development is integral. Educators participate in modules on entrepreneurial pedagogy, design thinking, and enterprise integration. During workshops, teachers shadow facilitators and co-lead modules, progressively building their capacity to run projects independently.
Teachers receive a digital resource kit with lesson plans, assessment rubrics, and career learning modules (personal brand, resume writing, interview skills, career planning, resilience). Teachers also gain access to an ongoing professional learning network to share best practices across schools.
